Bob Katz, “Master of Mastering” gives a workshop at SAE Institute
SAE Institute is very proud to announce a series of mastering workshops at the colleges in the UK, Netherlands and Belgium with the guru of audio and music mastering, mr. Bob Katz!
These workshops are organized by SAE Institute in partnership with Focal Press, TC Electronic and Magix.
Bob Katz is one of the best-known and acknowledged mastering engineers in the USA. He has mastered several Grammy awared-winning albums and is highly regarded by audiophiles and colleagues from the industry. Katz is the author of the book ‘Mastering Audio - The Art and the Science’, which has been reviewed by some as the definitive work on mastering.
Now it’s your chance to attend a unique workshop by Bob Katz at SAE Institute. During this workshop the following topics will be discussed by the master himself:
- calibrating monitor (speaker) -systems
- the ‘loudness race’ in music
- audio mastering software (with special focus on Sequoia 11)
- audio mastering hardware (with special focus on TC 6000 and the BMC-2 interface)
- tips and tricks on the use of hard- and software
- during the workshop several music and audio samples will be used
In order to follow this workshop, good understanding of audio technology and the recording & mixing process is required.
The workshop has a duration of 3 hours.

There is an evening session open for the public from 18:00 till 21:00. This session is open to industry professionals and SAE graduates with additional experience.
Costs for this unique workshop are 45,00 euro.
